Andrew and I are trying to make it a tradition that for our birthdays we do a getaway with friends. So for Andrew’s birthday weekend, we decided to celebrate in the beautiful Santa Barbara. I have never been to Santa Barbara, but for those who know me, I am obsessed with the beach and wish that I lived by the ocean (one day it will happen)!
We booked a beautiful home in Montecito, CA through Airbnb and the home was amazing and beautifully decorated. The home was about a 10 minute walk to the beach and the beautiful Four Seasons, we were also close to downtown Montecito, which had plenty of cute shops and a ton of restaurants.
We went up an extra day early so we could spend some time exploring the city. We spent Friday morning taking a long walk on the beach with the dogs, the beaches are clean and the weather was amazing! There are a ton of people with their dogs and everyone was friendly. Andrew and I did feel a little out-of-place since we were practically the only Asians in Montecito. After our long stroll, we took the dogs to get groomed while we headed to state street to do some shopping and grab lunch.
Finally, people arrived Friday night!!! We had a nice BBQ in the yard and enjoyed hanging around the fireplace and catch up with friends we haven’t seen in a while. Saturday we spent the majority of the day at the beach and the wharf in downtown Santa Barbara. We rented these awesome six seater bikes and cruised around the beach. They are heavy and do not go very fast, luckily I had 3 strong bikers on my team! We ended the night having an amazing birthday meal at The Lark, the decor and the food was amazing. There was also a bar next door and walking distance to many more bars!
