Mori Point

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOver the weekend we decided to go hiking at Mori Point in Pacifica.  I found a great trail that was approximately 6 miles that had amazing views of the ocean.   Although we live pretty close to Pacifica we have never stopped by, who knew that it is such a great place for a morning hike.

The weather was amazing, we started off our hike at the intersection of Paloma Ave and Beach Ave.   If you follow the trail it pretty much takes you all the way to the top of Mori Point, the next stop further down takes you to Rockaway Beach.  There is plenty of residential parking, but get there early since tons of people apparently go fishing on the pier (one person accidentally caught a sea-gull – but luckily they were able to free it!)OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

When you get further along the hike there are 2 paths to take to Rockaway beach, we decided to take the off-road paths which consists of some very steep downhills and small paths.  This path is way more scenic as it stays close to the pacific and has some amazing views.  On the way back you can take the Headlands trails through the meadow, which is much more flat and well-traveled.  OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Mori Point is a great place to check out if you have 2-3 hours to just hang out or go for a run.  The great thing is that the hike is super dog friendly and there are tons of people who bring their dogs.  Unfortunately ours are not of the hiking type.  Finally, no hike is complete without our signature jumping photo!
